Question: dpms should be off? #25

I've got DPMS enabled and it suspends the laptop after 10 minutes of inactivity as expected.

Now that I've plugged in this amazing tool, it's not clear if I should xset -dpms at startup? Or leave it be? Because the two seems to be doing the same thing.

Thanks!

I suppose that is up to you whether you want to use xidlehook for suspending or leave that to DPMS. xidlehook will let you detect a running fullscreen application or one that plays audio, and might be favorable.

I'm not sure if xset -dpms is enough, however: I stumbled upon this ArchWiki section on XScreenSaver and DPMS when Googling. I must admit I don't actually know much about DPMS!
