Matches the original. The targets used in the web app have bass shelf removed and the gets added back in with parametric that match the original shelf.
Does max gain affect audio quality in any way? I read up that from a software perspective it affects effective bit depth and can introduce quantization noise, so let's say I have a high volume floor because my headphones don't require as much power, would raising the max gain on the web app help with retaining playback quality?
Max gain limits how much the equalizer is allowed to boost any frequency. The boosts are of course countered with negative preamp which usually makes the total volume lower. Max gain is a way to avoid too much volume decrease in cases where the headphone amplifier doesn't have enough anslogue gain. It has nothing to do with the things you mentioned.
Lets say I selected HMS II.3 Harman over-ear 2018. Does the default bass boost value which is 6db match the original target Harman curve, or is bass boost applied on top of it?
