Adding soft shadows for text and icons if completely transparent would look 
cool specially on light wallpapers.

Revision 009b9e195240 fixes this, although the UI is kind of ugly. Will see 
about improving it in the future. A slider in the 'Appearance' config section 
would be preferable, but I'm hesitant to start adding too much to that screen. 
At any rate, this should be in the next release.

I got a workaround if this helps; in your rom disable to use of homescreen 
widgets, then add a new dashclock widget on your lockscreen and done, you could 
enable the homescreen widgets after this and the trasparency sould still be 
there, you just need to disable the option add widget and re-enable it. at 
least it worked for me. using paranoid android 3.0
