And that code does....
Collections are responsible for maintaining whatever they link to with the new
field.
The "use specimens" link (which may need a new name) will go to a page that
looks
something like - or is - http://arctos.database.museum/home.cfm, but containing
a
"Loan Policy" link for the collections that set one up.
Somewhere, probably in manage arctos users, there'll be a link that lets
curators
turn on a 'shopping cart' for specific users. How or if they use it, and
whether or
not they want to mention it in their loan policy, is up to them.
Turning on the 'shopping cart' will also turn on a user project description
field and
some widgets for approved users to see what they've already requested.
Once users are happy with their loan, they'll submit it (to the collection loan
contact role agent). Curators can then automatically create a project and loan,
and
approve or reject requested items.

"Shopping cart" system remains incomplete; bumping to low priority until a
Curator
screams. Changing title and demoting.
