Going to sub-menus and coming back using the hardware Back makes buttons go out of focus

I am reporting this bug as a part of a research project at the University of 
Texas at Austin. Please accept the bug if it is valid.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Sometimes a specific button (for example the + button) is in focus.
2. Navigates to the info sub-menu or any other sub-menu.
3. Come back using the hardware Back button.
4. The button goes out of focus.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The button should stay in focus.

Please include the following info:
Phone model?  Android emulator, with CPU Intel Atom (x86)
Android Version?  Android 4.3 API level 18
ROM?  512 MB of SD card

If possible, provide a logcat of the issue:
If you get a Force Close do an: adb logcat

Please provide any additional information below.
