The lastest nigtly build don´t call to anoyher sip users with 2.3 SIP integration. #1806

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.I try to call to username@sip.provider.com
2.It don't try to call

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

In the stable release i could do it, i only have to add de
user@sip.provider.com to the contact on "internet call"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

the lastest nightly buil (2012/07/02)

Can you collect logs (see HowToCollectLogs wiki page).

Also when you say that it doesn't try to call, does it remain on the in call
screen with gray background? Or does it even don't leave the dialer screen?

sorry but my english isn't very good. I have reset my telephone, so i have to
do the call again.

I was using the dialer of the system, select yhe contact then his sip adress
abd it donn´t launch the call.

With the csipsimple dialer i don´t found the sip adress only the telephone.
¿how i have to do to call to user@sip.provider.com?

The problem is that the call is not launched.

You can go in "text dialer mode" depending on the device you are using the
little "txt" icon will appear in the bottom bar or in menu (by pressing menu
key).
Then, when you are in text dialing mode, you can enter the
"user@sip.provider.com" sip uri.

The fact that it doesn't integrate to dialer seems to be something different.
I'll do an extra check on this point. Is the sip address of the contact entered
in the "internet call" field or in the "Im field" with custom protocol set to
"sip". Normally the app should support both way (because the first one is only
available on android 2.3 and upper).

Don't worry for your english. It's not my native tongue too ;) I'm from france
;).

I txt mode i can call, but from field "internet call" i can´t, i will try to
restore the original firmware, i don´t undertand what are happening. But now i
think that the problem can be my telephone, not csipsimple

Ok, just did a test, there is indeed something wrong. When I try to call using
the "internet call" field it strip all non numbers char :S...
In your case I guess that there is no numbers at all and so nothing happens
(since the app drops empty numbers).
Something to be fixed :) The app should not consider the incoming uri as a tel
number but as a text.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. I'll fix that as soon as possible.

touch on the progress to fix that. Thanks !

I launched a manual nightly build process so that you can test this if you
want. It will be produced in about 30 minutes normally.

Ok, some question, when you make the call using the "internet call" entry, do
you see first one popup asking to choose between csipsimple and the stock SIP
application?

If not, there is maybe some previous choice that were made on the stock sip
application and so it tries to use the stock sip app (that is maybe not
configured).

without problem but for the rear speeker. The nightly build sound for the
correct speaker but don´t launch the calls to any sip adress

Another thing in my telephone samsung have deleted the native sip support. Now
i don´t have this native support.

But i tried to add it, and i could call by the native sip (with a poor quality)
but not by csimple, so i format my telephone and put the custom rom again. I
not flash the telephone with the original rom, because i think that it is not
the problem, because de csipsimple of the market works well.

Ok, weird that it doesn't prompt, maybe the stock SIP application is not
provided by your phone manufacturer, so no choice is requested.
Can you try to collect logs :
Press menu while in csipsimple dialer, choose help and "start recording
logs...."
Then reproduce the problem
Finally go back in dialer, menu, help and "stop and send logs..." it will
produce an email with some logs where there is maybe some interesting clue :).
The email address it's generated for should be fine and raise me directly.

Thanks

I received the logs thanks.
Well, that's weird the system seems to send the intent with action "VIEW". I
only register to action "CALL". Since I thought all contact app would try to
send action call while trying to call a sip uri.

I think that indeed the market version has also the registration on view intent
for tablets (because they only sent view, but I found meanwhile a better way).
I guess that I have to re-introduce the registration on "VIEW" action. Even if
sounds weird, it will probably solve the problem. Anyway I wonder what could be
a 'VIEW' of a sip uri, so not so weird to call it when such an action is
requested.

I don´t understand all what you say, i need to do a couser for programers. But
i think that i undertood the principal idea. You have to change the code (the
view sentence) because this command don´t accept a sip adress.

I you can do it, send me the version what do it, because althougt now my
problem it is solved i prefer the other way (I don´t like make changes in my
system with root privileges because many times i don´t know what i am doing)

Again thank you very much, for the solution anf for remembering me that i have
tu study french, english and informatic lol ;)

Yes, sorry I was a little bit too technical on the last comment :).

I pushed a fix on the source code for that. It will be produced in tonight
nightly build. I don't launch a manual one this time because I've other things
to fix before. So it will be available tomorrow for test. Let me know how it
goes.

Thanks for the report and the test and log collect you already did, it's very
valuable for me to have this feedback, it makes the app better and helps to
improve nightly build so that it will not break everything when landing on the
android market :)
