These are the basic spells, I imagine other spells/traits will occur with extra parameters/effects

Confuse Person /Derange/Befuddle

2nd level enchantment Casting Time: 1 action Range: 30ft Components: V, S, M (a medallion or pocket watch on a chain) Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute

You warp a creature's mind, sending confusing and conflicting signals. Choose a creature you can see within range that is not an undead or construct and that can see you. That creature must make a Wisdom saving throw or become confused for the spell's duration. The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns or when it takes damage that isn't psychic damage, removing the condition on a success.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, you can target one additional creature for each slot level above 2nd. The creature must be within 30 feet of each other when you target them.

Classes: bard, cleric, druid, sorcerer, warlock, wizard

maybe remove the repeating saving thro each turn and require damage to repeat

limit by creature type, making additional spell and effects for each? Confuse Animals and Persons? Confuse Mundane Creatures? (plants, beasts, humanoids) Confuse Primoridals? (dragon, giant, elementals) Confuse Machines, Crosswire? Confuse Otherwordly? Confusing Word? Only work against those who can understand you Confusing Glare? Work against those who can see you Power Word Confuse?

Rapid Rewiring

2nd level transmutation Casting Time: 1 reaction, which you take when you make a Wisdom saving throw Range: Self Components: S Duration: 1 round

You attempt to rapidly rewrite your own mind to avoid manipulative effects. You reroll the d20 on the saving throw and use the higher result. If you would still fail the saving throw, you become confused instead of charmed or frightened. This condition lasts until the end of your end turn/ for 1 minute or until you take damage that isn't psychic damage..

Classes: artificer, bard, warlock, wizard

Maybe just make a touch action spell, like a more risky version of calm emotions

You attempt to rapidly rewrite your own mind to avoid manipulative effects. You have advantage on the saving throw.

If you fail the saving throw by 5 or more, you become confused for 1 minute or until you take damage that isn't psychic damage.
