Size: Small or Medium
Speed: 30ft.
Creature Type. Your creature type is plant.
Superior Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 120 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Rapport Spores. As an action, you can release communicative spores in an aura out to 20 feet from you. For the next hour, any creatures within the aura can communicate telepathically with each other. Once you use this trait, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.
Noxious Spores. As an action, you can eject spores at a creature you can see within 15 feet. That creature must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus) or become poisoned until the start of your next turn.
Enhanced Spores. When you reach 5th level, choose one of the enhanced spore options below. When you use your Noxious Spores trait you can provide the additional effect as described below. You can use this additional effect a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, , and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Broad Cloud. You can target all creatures within a 10-foot-cube centered on a point you can see within range.
Caustic Cloud. On a failed saving throw, the target takes 2d10 acid or poison damage (your choice), or half as much on a successful one. This damage increases by 1d10 when you reach 11th level (3d10) and 17th level (4d10).
**Hallucinogenic Spores.** On a failed saving throw, the target is charmed or frightened by you (your choice) for one minute. It can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, removing the condition on a success.
Pacifying Cloud. On a failed saving throw, the target is stunned until the start of your next turn.
**Volatile Cloud.** On a failed saving throw, the target takes an additional 1d8 fire damage the next time it takes fire damage before the end of your next turn.

Spore Magic alt to both above. You know the poison spray cantrip. Once you reach 3rd level, you can cast the ray of sickness spell with this trait. Once you cast the spell with this trait, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest. You can also cast the spell using any spell slots you have.
Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for when you cast the spell with this trait (choose when you select this race).

Noxious Spores ALT. You know the poison spray cantrip and can cast it without providing verbal components. Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for it.
Animating Cloud. You can instead cast animate dead on the corpse of a humanoid or beast. The target retains its size and speeds but otherwise...likely too strong, could be part of a feat, or just assume that if they want it they'll be a caster (or do an expanded spell list thing?)
