NTFS broken? #99

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Grab v61 or v62a
2. Set it up to load games from NTFS
3. Online update to v62a2
4. Restart loader

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect it to load normally.
I see it doesn't recognize to partition ("Error: NTFS1 not a valid partition!"
or something like that.) and it tries to get me to select another one. I
select the one on the list labeled "NTFS1" and it loads fine.

What version of the loader are you using?

v62a2

What is your System Menu version (e.g. 4.2u)?

4.2U, not region-changed, downgraded or anything

What is your media type (HDD, USB Flash, SD/SDHC)?

USB HDD (HP SimpleSave 320GB)

How is your media formatted (wbfs, fat32, ntfs)?

p#1- NTFS1: around 280GB, Primary, Active, always worked fine
p#2- FAT32: 32GB, Primary, not Active, always worked fine before NTFS was
possible. Currently used to store loader, settings, and covers.
p#3- None
p#4- None

Which cios are you using and which version (222, 249v??)?

Hermes cIOS222 rev5.0

Please provide any additional information below.

Online updating (downgrading?) to v61/v62a makes it work fine again. Maybe it
has something to do with ext2fs support.
BTW, are ext3 and ext4 going to be added soon?

Yeah, me too I have the same problem, setting.cfg clear and now gives me dump
code, to start the cfg in partition ntfs.

@ivan.aries1021: You mean to say when you blanked out settins.cfg and
restarted, you get a code dump?

You do know that the settings are not stored in that file, right?

v62a3 fixed the problem. All is well in the Configurable world.

Great job on the updating guys! Three revs within an hour or something!
