Susty is a great idea, but 2 years old, is there a follow up project? #28

I'm interested in making the web as light as possible. Are you still working on this or there any similar, but more up to date projects? Do there need to be? I'm concerned that something this old might not work with the most modern versions of WordPress or is that silly given that Susty is a such a lowest comment denominator project?

Perfect. Well... semi-perfect, it looks like I need to do some homework ;)

After looking at this, I think there are parts worth using. Looks like I'm going to end up with my own theme.

What do you miss?

What do you miss?

Missed this thinking the issue was dead.

Susty is near perfect because of its simplicity. I love that. I'm using at the moment on my site: https://billbennett.co.nz

I'm not a developer, but have enough knowledge to tinker around the edges, not enough to write fresh code.

Two things I can't figure out.

  1. How to put the date in the footer (the post footer, not the page footer). That seems to be missing from the theme.

  2. How to show the post footer on a post or a page, but not on category archive pages. I think the problem here is that there is no unique id on the archive page to distinguish archive content from posts and pages. I can hide the footer on the home page using additional CSS.

Sadly, I've moved from WordPress to Ghost. The site now uses a Ghost theme.

I had the idea of using javascript to create graphics instead of memory intensive images or SVG. I am very interested in your opinion on whether javascript and canvas could be an alternative to SVG to create sustainable websites with wordpress that still use graphics. See https://github.com/tmanych/susty-canvas for more information.
