I can't find tesseract-ocr 3.0.1 in synaptic

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I  installed tesseract-ocr 3.0.1 from the source,using 
"CPPFLAGS="-I/usr/local/include" LDFLAGS="-L/usr/local/lib" ./configure"
2. Now ,I can't find tesseract-ocr in Synaptic;
3. I can't find it using"aptitude show tesseract";and can't find it using"dpkg 
-L tesseract"
4. but I can use it in the command line.
  So when I install gimagereader ,it automatically install tesseract-ocr 2.04( tesseract-ocr 2.04 in Ubuntu synaptic)

My system is Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS.

3.02 will be available in synaptic for Ubuntu version 12.04.
