screen freezes after refresh #79

Given I'm looking at the Spot list When I pull down to refresh The refresher spins for a while Then hides itself when it's done But then I still can't scroll for about ~30 seconds

I think what's happening here is, the spinner goes away after the API call completes, but then the UI is still frozen until all the images are (re)downloaded. This is currently exacerbated because I'm on slow wifi.
