MSI Afterburner crash after installing openencodevfw #31

Maybe something wrong with the installer or maybe it's my fault. After installing openencodevfw on Windows 8.1 61 bit I can't open VFW coder settings. Attaching gif. ab

As in README, if you have Catalyst 15.7 or newer, this will crash because driver doesn't have the "function entry points" anymore. Also gif has x264vfw in it. Uninstall openencodevfw and reinstall x264vfw to fix possible registry errors.

If you mean testamfvfw, keep the issues in its own Issue tracker to not confuse me some much ;)

Driver is 15.301.

Also gif has x264vfw in it. I made gif using Gifcam, not a video capturing.

How can I reinstall x264vfw? I didn't install it separately. I used K-Lite codec pack. Hovewer x264 works fine when I'm using it to encode video using CPU (transcoding movies).

Maybe you're getting it wrong. I don't want to use x264vfw as VFW encoder in Afterburner. This is option I DON'T NEED. I want to change it to openencodevfw. But I can't open list of VFW encoders (in which I want to choose openencodevfw instead of current x264vfw) because of chrash.

It is not supported since Cat 15.7 hence it crashes when it tries to initialize itself. AB looks to have AMF (another VCE library) support built-in, use that instead.

You have:

After installing of openencodevfw I found new files at c:Program Files (x86)RivaTuner Statistics ServerProfiles: VCE.cfg и VCEAMF.cfg. So I can choose VCEAMF.cfg (other one doesn't work) but it has minimum of settings: 3 options of quality and bitrate. Other settings provides Afterburner.

However I'd like to use openencodevfw. Or at least try. But in general I just want to fix that crash when I'm trying to open list of installed VFW encoders.

I tried to delete openencodevfw but uninstaller says it can't do that. So I tried to uninstall manually. Interesting thins is that I didn't found some of registry keys that mentioned in uninstalling manual.

Seems like that's the keys and paths that define the list of VFW encoders. So after clearing it of openencodevfw Afterburner doesn't crash when I'm opening list of installed VFW encoders. Here's gif of properly working Afterburner with working list of encoders. dfgf

Could you help me to install openencodevfw properly? Installer says everything ok but it obviously isn't.

It doesn't work anymore unless you install Catalyst 15.6 or older drivers.

So this whole project just doesn't work anymore? I don't know how it works at all but will you make it work with current/next versions of drivers or this is abandoned project?
