Wifi stopped working again #309

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Turn on Wifi
2.Waiting for searching networks
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The phone finds my router's signal, which is working properly (tested with
other devices). Instead, the phone does not even see a network.

What version of MiniCM you are using? On what device (x10mini, x8 - x10mini
PRO is NOT supported)?
MiniCM7-2.1.2

What app(s) are involved in the problem?

Have you tried rebooting your device?
Yes. I did the "update" procedure in recovery and it solved the problem.

What is the adb logcat output when the problem accurs (see:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Logcat)

Please provide any additional information below.

I think it's a pretty annoying bug. I wrote this earlier:

This is probably a router-related problem.

Try changing the encryption type and it might work. Also try removing all
existing networks and re-adding them.

I had this earlier with x10mini, nAn kernel and MiniCM7-2.1.3
*Forgot this step - I was using MiniCM6*

"Select 'wipe data/factory reset' if you were not already using MiniCM7"
Now I've done this step and re-applied update from sdcard, wifi now working
better than stock 2.1!! thx

I have the same problem. miniCM7 2.1.3 with E10_nAa-05b_2.6.29.6-nAa-05 kernel.
(both are lastest version). Trying rebooting phone, wipe cache partition, erase
previous saved networks, enabling and disabling wifi hotspot (the hotspot works
well), and still not working.

¿Is necessary to apply the update again?
I'm too lazy to install it all over again, jeje.

If no solution, I will re-update mi phone.

Regards,

The priority is medium, I don't think.

@alex:

how you delete the saved networks in wlan config, if the wlan interface never
starts? ... wlan just try start!

Could be deleted from de wlan config the saved networks, if the interface is
completly up.

Hi,

When the WLAN not work, the device dont search for networks:

- I turn ON the WLAN
- I can enter to WLAN CONFIG (to search networks and see saved networks)
- The device cant search networks (this mean, no new networks in the network
list. If I have a saved network , and I am in coverage of that network, i cant
connect, only erase)
- When you try to use another app to search wireless networks, no one works.
For example, i tried to search networks with "Wifi Analyzer" (with wlan on),
but appears as wlan disabled.

Solution for me:
- In WLAN config, erase all saved wireless networks. The device will search for
networks again.

This is my experience for this problem.

Regards,

I used MiniCM10-4.0.1-mimmi.zip and turning on WLAn is not posible.
Long time showing "Activate WLAN, wait" or equal.
Result, WLAN is off.

Now i use MiniCM10-4.0.0-mimmi.zip and WLAN can be activeted.
Change/Bug in MiniCM10-4.0.1-mimmi.zip !?
