This turned out to be trickier than I had initially expected. In fact it turned out to be massive enough to warrant its own extension. After patching 4 methods, it's still not enough, and there's still work to be done.
Short rundown:
No ETA.
The extension is ready and fully functional. It is patching 5 different things and brings the final player experience to a very smooth and enjoyable level. It will be released later this weekend or next week along with EQ3.
Keep in mind that some of my balancing decisions, such as the inability to reload, use melees, switch weapons, m2 whilst on a ladder, are hardcoded into the extension and if you decide to use it in promod, you will have to accept it as well. I ask of this because I don't want this meta mechanic to differ too much between configs.

Great news. Those balancing decisions seem fair, should keep ladders still a bit dangerous. Can't wait to try it out.

I'm not releasing an unfinished product, but the wait will be worth it. And I'm not talking only about the ladders, but the new EQ in general.
Fix ladder chokes once and for all without having to use workarounds like props and spit immunity.
