Determine outdoor lighting solution

I would like to bring the outdoor lighting into home assistant.

Some ideas I've had are:

Light Strips
- Inside the window pointing to the outside, so the window glows out
- outside so the patio glows
straight up motion lights that do not integrate to home assistant
Outdoor lights
- plug into outdoor fixture
- standalone

Fixed by adding an outdoor smart switch
