Consider the MusicXML file in the attached archive and process it with

xml2ly hairpins-twice.xml > hairpins-twice.ly

The created .ly file contains doubled hairpins for no good reasons:

    b'4 ^\< ^\< b' b' \! \!  | % 3
    b'4 ^\> ^\> b' b' \! \!  | % 4
