Volume Control Distortion #35

Volume control working great except for the very noticeable distortion of the music being played.

This is an issue with pianobar and not with Pidora. pianobar allows it only so high until it starts distorting. Instead you should try turning up your speakers.

This is because it is software based and not hardware? Less filtering through the speaker hardware is why it distorts?

I'm not sure what the exact reason is, but it's definitely software.

If it's not loud enough, you can also set the volume on the Pi itself using amixer cset numid=1 -- 97%.
