Identical icons in TDE/Q4OS Control panel #11

Open q4osteam opened 4 years ago

There are two identical icons in TDE/Q4OS Control panel, "Appearance and themes" and "System administration". A new "Appearance and themes" icon would need to be designed. Also, the command "sudo kcmodules --unlock" unveils another identical icons in Control panel, that should be distinguished as well.

I've actually looked at several of these (Appearance & Theme > Style was updated with cf8919). There are a few icons in the control panel that point to the same file so I'm not sure how to make them appear different. Should that be something to pass upstream to the TDE team, or is it something to consider at the distro level?

Yes, we have found a bunch of shortcuts in control panel that points to a same icon files, see the list below. All of them should be definitely passed and reported to the TDE team. We can exclude them off of this bug report at the moment.

We have reported a bug related to the Trinity part in the TDE bugtracker https://bugs.trinitydesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3056

jaerrib commented 4 years ago

Excellent. Thanks for filing the bug. I'll keep working on the icons I'm able to differentiate and wait for upstream to (hopefully) enable a way to have unique icons for each entry in the control panel.

jaerrib commented 1 year ago

Is this still an issue now that multiple icons are being pulled from Papirus?

q4osteam commented 10 months ago

Yes, it is. There are still duplicate icons in control panel as described in the OP.
