Can't start RTSP server #82

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem:
1. Run Spydriod on Motorola Atrix (MB860), Android 2.3.4.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected output: all services start up. Instead RTSP server fails to start.
Exact error is "RtspServer could net be started : Address already in use".

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Motorola Atrix (MB860), Android 2.3.4.

Please provide any additional information below.
Process "System Portal" (com.motorola.android.phoneportal.androidui run by user
app_78) is already listening on port 8086. Can't kill process (maybe because
I'm not root). Work around would be setting RTSP server to a different port,
maybe through an option in the settings.

Hi !

Try killing Spydroid and restarting it ! If you don't know how to do that just
restart your phone...

I will try to improve this in the next release...

Thank you

Already tried a reboot of the phone with no luck. Tried killing the Spydroid
process as well but that didn't help. The problem is there's a Motorola
process already using port 8086 which I'm unable to kill (annoying because I
don't use the "System Portal" application most of the time).

Thanks for the reply! I only wish I knew how to code so I could help with the
solution. As it is I only understand the problem.
