On a side note, I was thinking about what powerman does and the fence agents
used in RHEL clustering seem to have similar functionality, ie killing power to
a remote power device. Do you think that the fence agents included in RHEL
could perform the same function? They may not work out of the box but with
some tweaking (minor hopefully) maybe they could be made to work? I'm thinking
along the lines of less maintenance for LLNL is good. Please let me know what
your thoughts are on this.

A list of supported hardware is here:

I'm sure there's some overlap between powerman and the fence stuff, and
I think also with network ups tools (NUT). I doubt it's feasible for us
to get rid of powerman though, given that we have a lot of clusters
fielded at the various labs with powerman configs in place and possibly
their own powerman device support scripts. What might be feasible is
for powerman to drive your fence scripts and thus outsource some of
its hardware support. I'll open a bug to consier that one.

Thanks,

Jim
