Ultra Pif no video but hear slowed down audio #2

Did the Ultra Pif mod exactly as instructed but doesn’t work. I get no video but hear audio except it’s in slow motion. This Ultra Pif was taken out of my fried Pal Console which i failed to install a ReN64 psu mod and the i put the Ultra Pif into my replacement NTSC motherboard. I then started having this problem once it was transferred. I tried converting the NTSC console into a Pal one by replacing the U7, U15 and the X2 Oscillator, and i get the same problem. Is my Ultra Pif at fault or did i miss something? I don’t know what the JP 4,3,2,1 bridge points are, don’t know what the BL point is on the Ultra Pif board and i get a flashing LD2 Red Status LED with the Green LD3. By the way my motherboard is NUS-CPU-05 and my faulty Pal motherboard is NUS-CPU (P)01 revision. Hopefully i can fix that motherboard someday.

Hi,

the UltraPIF seems to run, but the video clock is not working. Did you remove the load capacitors from X1 on the back of the motherboard? (C39, C40)

Could also be a bad contact in the connector. Sometimes I need to clean them with Isopropyl alcohol.

X2 and U15 are for the RDRAM-Clock. These parts should be the same for PAL and NTSC. Replacing them will not have any effect.

Thanks looks like i may have screwed up the adaptor board. As i desoldered it off my dead N64 using a rework station, the connector is a bit burned. I tried reflowing it with drag soldering and i ended up bridging every joint. Can’t seem to unbridge them since the gaps are too small. So do you know where i can purchase a replacement adaptor board?

You may ask Romi from ModInFrance https://shop.modinfrance.fr/fr/

Yeah, it's quite difficult to remove these boards intact.

You are not from Germany, are you?

No i’m from the UK. I spoke to him they just have the connectors. But will need to figure out a way to solder those on. Would be preferred if i can get a preassembled board.

Looks like i will be able to order some replacement adaptor boards, will see if that fixes it. Thanks.
