Minor changes for compilation in 2023. Most notably, incorporate library mvaspike directly in the github repository, as it cannot be found online anymore.
(I also updated the README a little, citing your repository, which makes no sense if it becomes your own README ! So make sure to make the small required modifications afterwards.)
