Automatically activate 'Menu' upon empty database or record list #14

There's currently no indication to the user that the app is waiting for
input when no databases or records exist.  The 'Menu' should activate
automatically in this scenario.  If this is not possible, there should be
some visible instructions given to the user.

The Add menu item has been removed in favor of an Add button.
