It makes a faster user experience possible, because there are generally lesser reloads and browser refreshes.

I get what the extension is build for, but I can't seem to understand how it works and how it actually makes user experience better.

Adding some screenshots and use cases to the documentation will help I guess.

Looks good to me. You can go on to comprehensively explain about how it works in the README.

More the description, better for new devs to contribute. Someone might just port fastr as a Firefox plugin as well.

But generally this is a good place to start.
