Performance issue on selecting every items #1932

Reported by Duncan on 20 May 2013 01:06 UTC I have a large collection and would like to be able to quickly and easily play all tracks at random as is possible with Winamp.

I selected all in tracks view and right click-played them which caused the program to go slowly for a good while with a spinning cursor icon. Maybe a button at the base of the track/albums window enabling "play all"?

It may be good to have the option when right-clicking in some circumstances.

Commented by bflorat on 24 May 2013 21:07 UTC I confirm that we have a huge performance issue when selecting all (ctrl-A) items for a big collection and we perform an action (like play shuffle) against it.

I rewrite this ticket title in this direction.

About the feature itself : jajuk is done for very large selections and this kind of shuffle feature can hardly be achieve by selecting thousands or tens of thousands tracks and apply an action against them. This is why Jajuk comes with the smart functions, see [You can use the Shuffle smart function to play random tracks.
