What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open pychess_0.10-1_all.deb with Ubuntu Software Centre.
2. Click "Install" in Ubuntu Software Centre. Authenticate with root password.
3. Get error "The package is of bad quality" every time.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: The package should install PyChess.
What happens:
"The package is of bad quality"
"The installation of a package which violates the quality standards isn't
allowed. This could cause serious problems on your computer. Please contact the
person or organisation who provided this package file and include the details
beneath."
"Details:
Lintian check results for /home/richard/Downloads/pychess_0.10-1_all.deb:
E: pychess: maintainer-address-malformed Pychess team <pychess-people at
googlegroups com>

"

Does it happen every time?
Yes.

What version of the product are you using?
0.10-1 (Latest)

Did you use an installed version of PyChess or did you run in from a
tarball/svn?
.deb

Please provide any additional information below.
I'm using Ubuntu 11.04, so it might be an Ubuntu specific problem, not PyChess.
Not sure though...

Please attach the latest pychess logfile. It's in a hidden folder, under
your homedirectory, named ".local/share/pychess/"
I looked, but couldn't see it there.

Sorry if I did this bug report wrong. :/

Seems Ubuntu Software Centre is a bit agressive here :) I think this is 11.04
related problem, as the .deb was tested on 10.10 without any problem with
apt-get install.
Can you try to install it with dpkg please?

Fixed the maintainer-address in our setup.py, so I hope this will be OK in the
future.
