How to run on raspbian raspberry pi 3b+?

Couldn't you just run the executable by typing ./input_pc_linux? If not, try rebuilding it since Raspberry Pis are ARM based instead of x86. To do this, download the source code here and run build.sh in the hid_mitm directory.

Does raspbian recognise it as a proper controller?

Do you have any other controllers you can try? Also, try using the controller wired via USB
