The latest version of Mermaid, 8.7.0 (2020-08-09), includes support for theming. This would especially be useful for people who use a dark theme on their wiki, but the version of Mermaid currently used for this plugin appears to be outdated.

I second this request. Especially since when you use a dark theme for dokuwiki, the default theme of these charts is nearly unreadable.
