Proctor to work on windows #8

I propose creating a new branch specifically for users on the Windows platform, so they can also try out the program. I have not previously created pull requests and am unsure how to select a different branch (if possible, since my only option so far has been main). Therefore, you may choose to close this request, create another branch, and I will push my changes to it if that makes sense.

Thanks! I put the changes in the windows branch for now, but hopefully soon I will make some updates to the main branch so that it's OS independent
