Problems with (AVI) H.264 + PCM 8KHz 16bit mono #477

Describe the issue you're having:
This kind of video/audio format gives many problems when played through WMP12:
H.264 MPEG4 AVC Part 10 (avc1), 1280x720, Planar 4:2:0 YUV; PCM (µlaw) 8KHz
16bit mono.
It's the native format for my IP camera: MayGion H264 IPC, Dericam H502W,
DBPower HD011P, etc... Software Version: H.264 6.32, Web Version:
ipcam(2013.10.28).
In particular, for very large files (70MB+) it can crash/hang Windows Media
Player trying to skip position, and audio is NEVER played correctly.
No problems using VLCPortable 2.15, video+audio is always ok.

How can the issue be reproduced? Sample File?
https://www.sendspace.com/file/kregz2 (2.2MB)

What version of the product are you using? In which Player?
LAV Filters 0.62, Windows Media Player 12, Windows 7 x64 8GB RAM.

This is a MP4 file, not AVI, your title and filename is quite misleading.

Otherwise, WMP is not officially supported, since its a braindead player with a
lot of problems.

I always thought good codecs would allow to play anything also in system video
player... If I have to use something like VLC (70MB, with internal multi-format
support) I wouldn't need these excellent Lavfilters at all.

What is "officially supported"?

I'm afraid this is an audio issue: when playing the same big videos, but
captured without audio, there is no issue also with the simple WMP player. I
hoped you could do something to improve the audio decoding in this format
then...

Are you saying this is just a WMP player issue and the format (and
Lavaudio.ax->PCM->quartz.dll) is ok?

This file will play correctly in WMP12 if you disable Media Foundation.

You can do that with Codec Tweak Tool.

Thanks a lot for helping me! It works fine indeed disabling Media Foundation
for AVIs, and no need to install and use external video players! :)
