LAV upmix not working as intended

Describe the issue you're having:
LAV upmix not working as intended

How can the issue be reproduced? Sample File?
Any file with 2channel audio, enable upmixing to 5.1 or 7.1

What version of the product are you using? In which Player?
0.62.0 in either Mediaportal or Windows Media Player

Please provide any additional information below.
The following settings used:

On the mixing tab of the LAV config I have the following settings:

Enable mixing (checked)
Output speaker configuration (5.1)
Don't mix stereo sources (unchecked)
Normalize matrix (unchecked)
Clipping protection (checked)
Matrix Encoding (none)
Center Mix level (0.71)
Surround Mix Level (0.71)
LFE Mix Level (0.00)

Video files with 2channel audio only output sound from the front speakers and 
not the rear. Videos with 6channel sound output sound correctly.

This is how its supposed to work, hence it is working as intended.

It's supposed to do nothing? I thought it was supposed to make a stereo track 
playback through all 5.1 speakers instead of just the front 2
