There is one problem and that is if you can't use the QR code you have to type an obscure string of letters and numbers as the address. It might be worth looking at the technique that file.pizza uses where they use a set of dictionary words instead.
Of course that isn't foolproof either; when I tried it, it used the word cardamon but in the part of the world where I live the word is cardamom. I don't know if that is a typo or if cardamon is the usual spelling wherever they are from.
Anyway, my point is that I'd be willing to sacrifice a little security in this case for addresses that are easier to relay.
