Android VNC Display is Green #120

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Android VNC 0.4.1 (From Market)
2. UltraVNC Server 1.0.8.2

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I was using Android VNC 0.4.1 w/ UltraVNC Server 1.0.6.5 for the longest time
but had to
upgrade the server version due to occasional lockups of the server. Version
1.0.8.2 fixed the
lockups but now Android VNC is unusable due to the screen turning all green
when you pan
outside of the original area displayed after downloading the first frame.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Versions mentioned above. Ultra VNC Server runs on Vista with no change in
settings
between the versions. I am running Android OS that is stock on the Sprint HTC
Hero.

Please provide any additional information below.

Same issue.

Motorola Droid
Android 2.1-update1
UltraVNC Win32 Server 1.0.8.2
android-vnc-viewer 0.4.2 from Android Market
Windows 7 Enterprise (32-bit)

Notably, this only happens when I have my resolution set high (1920x1200). If I
take it way down (800x600) it does not have that problem, most likely because I
don't have to pan.

Same thing here. To add a bit of information. It seems to work fine right off
the bat, but once I pan it goes green. Given the note above it seems like
there is an issue with panning.

Latest version on the dev site should update better and green screen less
(still might green screen on very large displays)

Check it out

If you are still getting green screen, can you please note the dimensions of
your desktop. Also you might try the "Force full bitmap" option. The new code
should support remoting up to 4 megapixel displays on current-gen phones
without a force close with "Force full bitmap". I'm leaving in tiled mode to
support even larger display or older phones.

@ Comment 9: Thanks so much! You fixed it! No more green screen when panning.
I can go back to using the best VNC application for Android! Downloading the
1st frame seems to take 5-10 seconds longer, but after it does that, it works
as I remembered. A+

P.S. - I was running in a resolution of 1600x1200. I did not turn on "Force
Full Bitmap".

Alright! I used the "Force full bitmap" as suggested and it seems to work at
24-bit color (and 256 and grayscale). As an FYI, my screen resolution is
1920x1200.
