PSP fully bricked after CFW Uninstall (PRO B10fix1) #343

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
The PSP is a Slim, mobo 02g.
After CFW uninstall and reset, the PSP no longer turns on.
When turned on, I see the power LED light up green for about 30 seconds.
The screen is black, nothing happens, then the LED turns off again.

What would be the best course of action for recovery?

Just wondering did you use CIPL to make perm and if so you should have run CIPL
first and uninstalled it first before you uninstalled PRO

Yes, I have used CIPL Flasher. I completely forgot about uninstalling it.

What are my options now?

You may be able to get to recovery by hold L-Trigger
or hold O+X+Select+Start during start up to see if emergency uninstall works
but hold the whole time

Neither option seems to work.

What about Pandora+MagicMemoryStick?

My question before I buy/make a Pandora and MMS:

On a 02g Mainboard it should work just fine, but will it work under 6.60
firmware or is the firmware irrelevant in this case?

I would recommend to use the OFW that it came with when you bought the PSP
Then upgrade then go CFW

What I meant was "Will I be able to Boot into Service Mode if the PSP was
already updated to 6.60". I am indeed planning to install a legacy OFW first,
then Update, then Soft Mod.

I have never heard of anyone on 1g and 2g having problems with service mode but
I don't own any of those models now not sure with 6.60 but should work

Great! Sounds good. I don't want to cut my own battery, so I'll go for a
store-bought Pandora and post the results here.

I have to say this "brick" can be fixed without a pandora because the CIPL has
a fallsafe "HOME" key to boot to your OFW without trying to load CFW files. So
you can hold HOME key to boot even you wiped out all your CFW files.

@12 I wish I knew that before I purchased a Pandora and a new MS. XD Well, the
battery's useful anyway.
