iOS device name change #13

I found that if I change an iPad name using MUT that it makes the change the first time. After that the name can't be changed in MUT or directly in Jamf Pro. When you try to change the name a second time, MUT reports it was successful and in Jamf Pro, the name reverts back after hitting save. I was able to duplicate this with two different iPads. The iPads are enrolled using DEP.

The only way to allow the name to change again is delete iOS Device from Jamf Pro and re-enroll the device.

I can change the device multiple times if I do it directly in Jamf Pro.

The Jamf Pro server is a brand new cloud hosted server running 10.4.1.

Problem resolved. I had a restriction configured which didn't allow changing the device name.

efranklin, where was that? I can't rename devices now either.

It's the configuration profile option "Allow modifying device name (supervised only)" in "Restrictions".
