3 years ago Sorry for the late reply... I haven't updated to the latest update of Big Sur, I'll give it a try in a while. For now, the only issue I have in bootup regarding the trackpad is that it is too fast to use normally but if I log in BetterTouchTool slows it down to be useable.

3 years ago First thanks for putting all this together. I finally have it all set up. I'm seeing the same thing too. I did a fresh Catalina install with this repo then upgraded to Big Sur immediately. So no data if it was working consistently or not on Catalina.
Big Sur definitely trackpad does not work after reboots from when it was working previously. Takes several reboots to get going again.

2 years ago Hello, jamieernest, I am a fan of Chinese mainland, Xiao Bai. My notebook is also DELL 7501, which has been installing black apples. However, there are more or less problems in the configuration of EFI files. Occasionally, the whole GitHub can not be used. Occasionally, the network card is not driven. You upload GitHub packages need two phases of configuration. Can you send a compressed EFI file package for your use?

2 years ago Thanks for updating this. The trackpad still requires several reboots for it to work if it doesn't work on the first boo. It's really odd why this happens because nothing is really changing other than a reboot.
I'm not sure if I can provide anything that can help. I tried enabling logging in OC before, but nothing stood out but I'm not sure what I'm looking for either.
Don't stress too much over this. I appreciate your work. I can live with several reboots and when I can't, I just boot into linux.

2 years ago It is pretty much just drop in from your release. I changed config.plist for my
SystemUUID SytemSerialNumber ROM MLB
On a broadcom card, it works as well as BT, so I didn't need to change the kext for it.

2 years ago Wow. I "think" that should do it. Only 3 boots so far. The first boot trackpad didn't work. Second boot it worked. So I tried a reboot again and it worked.
I usually do not get that kind of working to non working rate on boots, so thank you.
I'll keep trying and if still have issues, I'll diff config.plist to play around with order some more. But much better than before on the few tries so far.

2 years ago Sorry. It looks like I just got lucky. Rebooted again today and took many tries to get track pad to work. So I diffed the config.plist you asked to try to see what order you changed. It turns out to be the same as before. What do you think I should move around I load order?

2 years ago When you open the config.plist just press command+shift+r and select the OC folder, then when it asks you for VoodoooInput just press 'Yes'

2 years ago no further info, I am unable to replicate
on the latest update of Big Sur - The trackpad at times is unresponsive at bootup - I have to reboot 2 or 3 times before it starts to work again - also clearing NVRAM does not work for the issue, I suspect the kext needs an update but not sure.
