Almanac not pulling total word count #21

Open robertracadio opened 10 years ago

I have my Daily Almanac set to get me writing totals. When I get my Daily Almanac script, it doesn't seem to be pulling the Total word count from my tracking spreadsheet - it just shows up at zero.

The tracking spreadsheet looks accurate, and it accurately tracks my writing streaks. Any insight into what might be going on with total word count is certainly appreciated.

Are you using the beta version or the master branch? The beta is actually much better. I just haven't yet had a chance to merge it back into the master branch. In any case, let me know which version you are using, and also, if there is any log output, paste that in as well.

I am actually having this issue, too and using the beta version. The Writing Stats email comes through with a pretty accurate count of the words and the full text of whatever documents I edited on the day prior. So far, so good. However, the Daily Almanac email comes through saying I've written zero words. I also get the Daily Almanac email twice each day; Writing Stats is only sent once. Here is the text from my most recent DA email:

Writing summary

You wrote a total of 0 words. These breakdown as follows: Fiction/Nonfiction Current daily writing goal: 595 words You wrote a total of 0 words: Fiction: 0 words (NaN%) Nonfiction: 0 words (NaN%) You have now written for 37 out of the last 57 days. That ties the 1-day record set back on . You have now written for 4 consecutive days.

The 37 out of 57 is accurate, as is the 4 consecutive days. I've been using the Fiction and Non-fiction tags in the documents, as well. In addition, the subject of the email comes through as "Daily Almanac for {{Almanac Date}} @Backup" so it doesn't appear to be pulling the date. The @Backup part was to automatically send to an evernote folder, but I've since changed the email address in the Excel sheet to come just to my regular email, just haven't changed the subject yet.

Finally, I get this error email every day, emailed to me from apps-sripts-notification:

One other thing, which may or may not be related: Every day my Snapshot folder appears to be updating correctly with the previous day's files. However, I have also noticed that the file I've worked on in my WiP folder (I think you called this Sandbox) also copies a second time to my main Google Drive folder. For example, I edited 1 file in WiP yesterday (8/20/14). Today, that file is backed up in both my Main Drive Folder and my Snapshot folder with the 8/20/14 date.

Those are all the issues I've noticed. Hopefully this info was helpful. Let me know if there is anything else that would help to pinpoint the problem. I'll try to keep checking back here (I know you may not have time to get to this, but I'm also tracking the words/day manually until I can get this working). Thanks!

I'm having the same issue as above, though i get the writing email which gives me a copy of what i worte but the Almanac is reporting that i wrote zero words. So basically the Daily Almanac is contradicting what the Daily Writing is reporting (which is the correct one, btw). I'm using the {{tags}} so i am not sure what is causing it. Any help would be appreciated.
