A Galling Request #23

Hi, I have next to nothing programming experience (am currently plodding my way through the Python track on codecademy) and came across your blog (great stuff by the way) trying to understand Evernote better- sorry, I digress. Next, I happened upon your google docs word count tracker and managed to install it and it works. I'm aware of your caveat about how this is something strictly for your own process that you decided to share, use at your own risk, you won't have time to troubleshoot etc etc which is why I feel the need to preface my query with this needless prattling on...BUT is there a way that the script could be modified to be able to read/scan/whatever magic it is that it does .md files and not just google docs files? I really like to write in ia Writer and save those files into my Sandbox folder on Drive but it only picks up things I actually write and save in google docs. I suppose I could just cut and paste what I write in ia Writer into a google docs file at the end of each day? Anyways, just a humble question- thanks again for sharing a nifty thing with the internets!
