Similar to what many softwares do (e.g. QGIS), we could implement a feature into TA that would send us automatic usage data (e.g.: System info, country, how much they use each tool...).
This would help us get useful stats to know which functions users use most, which versions of QGIS they are running, OS, and countries where they are. This would help us to decide which features are most attractive and useful and then focus on developing these parts.
One thing to think about and do some research on is the privacy.
We need to ensure the data gets correctly anonymized and give the user the possibility to disable this, similar to what most softwares do. Potentially also check what we need to do to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the EU/EEA which will ensure we are clean for the whole world, since it is the highest worldwide data protection standard.
