:'( I literally had a crash and somehow all my friends on the server now has to start from scratch... I guess there's no way to back this up automatically and have it restored since this is a request. So sad, everyone worked so hard on the server, lol.

hey, i believe there are backups enabled by default already, there just doesn't seem to be an elegant way to restore from them yet. but the backups should be there under the backups/ folder in your game directory

jammsen commented 4 months ago

@pixLclearr There is a backup-function as @calvinli723 said. If you have it enabled then you just have to restore the backup.

pixLclearr commented 4 months ago

I assume I have to only extract the backup file ".tar.gz", open up SaveGames, the server, and then copy/overwrite the .sav files into the Pal->Saved->SaveGames folder?

jammsen commented 4 months ago

I just replace the "Saved" directory completely.

Geekmeleon commented 4 months ago

This did work for me once. The server crashed at 3am, and reset the game save for some reason. I was able to extract the backups completely replacing the SAVED directory.

Hey sorry- I was out of the country on vacation, haha. But yes- this worked for me. I wish there was an easier way within the app that you can just say "Restore Backup", but I know that's a totally different beast. Thank you!
