Instantiating j.parameter~ (in Max) causes a Foundation crash #331

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Start Max
  2. Create a new patch
  3. Create a new object j.parameter~ foo

This results in the following crash at the feature/325-dataspace-ramp branch:

I have fixed this issue locally.
