excerpt from the email to Ricardo that gives an argument we discussed and is IMHO a particularly valid one: we’ve been discussing that with the team at the last workshop, and concluded that this part belongs to the view… because if you wanted to run the models without views (i.e. with pre-designed cues) you wouldn’t need such user-interaction… and actually, if the model was run on a remote computer, without a screen (which we can now do with remote views across the network) and that, for some reason, the opendialog message was received, this would freeze everything on this machine (am I being clear ?)
Note to self: an idea would be to have a tutorial or a "Good practices" category for that kind of information
as discussed in #692 and on the users mailing list, we concluded that file management actions should belong to the view
this can be seen in action in the input~.model, amongst others...
I'm assigning to Julien, as he's probably the one going to actually do the documentation...
