Which device (manufacturer, type)?
motorola droid
Which firmware is installed?
2.1
What version of wireless tether are you using?
apk8 through 10
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.install on motorola droid
2.start the program
3.watch for netfilter problem

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
an error is shown on program startup saying that "netfilter does not exist"
this is similar to the issues reported on the nexus, however there is no
patch provided that works with the motorola droid.
Please provide any additional information below.

perhaps we need an install similar to that of the nexus?

You guys need to install a netfilter-enabled kernel and of course "root" your
device.

I have been searching for 3 hours to find a netfilter enable kernel for the
Droid 2.1 Firmware. I got root. Just can't find a damn netfilter enabled
kernel

Is there a way to manually add Netfilter to your existing Kernel? If we can
just install it on our phones instead of having to find a netfilter enabled
kernel it would be much easier, at least for me. I would prefer to do it
myself so I can control what I have in my kernel, v/s using someone else's and
flashing it to my phone.

I'm having the same problem with Android 2.1 on a Galaxy 5 i5503.
Unable to find a custom firmware or kernel for my device.
Any other ways to make it work?

Same problem with me. Samsung did not ship galaxy 5/(I5500/I5503) with
netfilter enabled custom kernel. I rooted my phone, tried installing barnacle,
wireless tether but nothing helped. Please help so I may write a post about it
on http://samsung-galaxy-5.blogspot.com for my readers

Consider upgrading to CyanogenMod 7

@ netfilter savvy users

Is there an android GUI for netfilter rules creation and management?

(iptables)

DroidWall does not (yet?) offer this functionality.

alternately .. Recommendations to script additions on boot? And platform
agnostic GUI to construct rules for android's netfilter (limitations?) ?
