Hi, I guess you mean "local library" by a folder on a device containing music files. Else the local libraries in the Sonos world is a NAS sharing music files and registered it as a source in the Sonos system.
So if you need to play music files stored in the PC where you installed Noson, then you must launch Noson which will scan audio files from the user music folder and allow you to play them from the page "This Device". You can control the queued items with an other device, but you must keep running Noson while playing files from the local PC. Stopping Noson will stop sharing of local files from the PC. I don't know what an Iphone can do. Only Noson allows you to share the files from the local PC. If you want to share a music library and manage the queue with all of your controller devices (android, iphone, linux, mac, windows, sailfish etc) then you must plug a NAS in your home network and register its share with your Sonos System. I use that in my home.
I added a new setting to configure an additionnal music location in the new release 4.4.0. Enjoy.
This issue has been solved by editing the xdg user directory setup to change the default location of the Music folder. I've solved that problem.
The current problem is that the Sonos app on my dad's iphone is not detecting the local library and he is unable to play it from his phone. How do I get around this?
