freerunner turns on by itself! #24

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
1. turn off the freerunner
2. wait for a while (5-10 minutes)
3. the freerunner turns on itself without any (human) interaction!

I'm using the 0.1.0 release

Please let me know if you need more information

regards

Ok, it can be a pendig alarm or the GSM, I don't know if it is important to send
AT@POFF to the serial before shutdown the system. I will investigate this issue

I am using Panickings image still; but I just had this happen to me today for
the
first time. The only change was that I had added some test APN's (GPRS and
MMS)
for Vodafone Australia.

At first I thought I might have done something wrong when turning the phone off
so I
turned it off again and after a few minutes it turned itself back on again.

I went in to the settings and deleted the APNs and turned it off and this time
it
stayed off. Sounds to me like it's the GSM doing this though I'm surprised it's
still powered if the phone is turned off.

Hope this helps!

Today I had the phone turn on by itself with no APNs set. :-(

This happens even if there's no SIM card in the phone. 0.1.1 release

I figure this due to the fact that the timer (rtc) device has been programmed
to send
an interrupt to the PMU by the alarm software (I guess), and it works also if
the
phone has been turned off.

To avoid this you should just be sure that when you removes the alarms, the
hardware
clock is updated accordingly.

I haven't seen this in a long time, so I'm marking it fixed. Please reopen if
you see
it again.

Sorry, I still experience these "automatic wake ups" even with the latest
builds.
What info could be useful to debug this problem ?

With "turning on" you mean screen? Or that annoying click of the speakers as
if it
partially wakes up, not turning the screen on, but firing up the sound device.

With "turning on" I mean the contrary to "turned off". The state the phone is
in when
you long-press on Power, select "turn off" then press "Yes". Completely off.

The constant waking up (and clicking sound) when it's supposed to be suspended
is
something quite completely different.

I meant the clicking sound from time to time.

I too get the click from time to time. For what its worth, on the click event,
my linux
pc notifies me that a new device is connected when the freerunner is plugged in
via
usb.

the clicks is not just annoying, I believe it drains battery as well.

i too think it's not fixed
both the wakeups from sleep and the automatic start of the phone

I have notice that when I switch off GPS no clicks, when GPS is switched on
clicks
start again. I have notice this at my master. May be it is only my observation.
