I can confirm that android tell me that the message wasn't sent. but the
message is
correctly delivered, for me. I received the reply from my friend ;) so I tryed
to
send a message to myself and it was displayed correctly under the "so called
failed
message"
hope it can help.

Well, my messages never hit their destination, and that's for sure :-(

Using weekly build 46 SMSes that are not sent immediately after powering on
report
failures.
However, test messages to myself have been successful.

Same here with build 48, but the sms seems to be sent anyways.
I got a call that I sent 6 messages ... (well 6 attempts to send, ... :) )

Weekly build 49, same problem here.
SMS is marked as 'sending failed' but it has been submitted)
I'm using GTA02V6 with T-Mobile G3 SIM-Card, secured via PIN

Same problem happens to me.. the SMS is marked as failed (and saved to drafts),
but in
reality they were sent.

I have tested with weekly build 50, and this is how it behaves on my Freerunner
:
- SMS are sent and received when I first boot the device
- SMS are neither sent nor received when I try to send them after the device wakes
from suspend
Could this have something to do with the GPRS connection ?

tested on 2010-01-06 cupcake week build:
- sms send after first boot: success
- sms send after suspend: success (small trash icon for a moment, without
moving to
draft)
- sms received during suspend: success (sound notification without wakeing
screen)

Looks like with the latest weekly build it's OK, SMS can be sent after
suspend/resume
and GPRS works, too :-)
Thank you !
