fix edge filename computation #367

This addresses #363 and seems to do the right thing with local testing.

(scrolling is way less smooth in NeuTu with DVID running this way, wondering if that's something you've seen)

Oh, I see that my prior diff was mistakenly to the master branch making this PR to dev ugly. I'll retarget this to master to have a cleaner commit history.
