netflix 4k #21

When will 4k movies be supported? At this point when I try to play a 4k movie it is only played as 1080p.

Not for the foreseeable future, since Netflix does not support Widevine for 4K content and Chrome can't decrypt PlayReady. If one of those things changes it will probably be easy to add, but until then you have to use either MS Edge or the Netflix app from the Windows Store for 4K.
