Counterfeit, Copper and Grand Market

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Play Counterfeit, play a copper with it.
2. Play two silvers.
3. Be a sad panda as you cannot buy grand market.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
As the copper is already trashed you shall be able to buy Grand Market.
